here's the explanation I gave to my non-otaku facebook friends:

Explanation/SPOILERS: Long story short, Boy likes Girl. Girl appears to like Boy. Girl and Boy form an alliance. Girl attempts to murder someone and frame Boy. Girl is an idiot and ends up being murdered herself in the process. Boy still ends up being blamed for the murder and has to prove his innocence anyway. Boy's heart is broken.

I tried to capture the whole idea of getting 'stabbed in the back' because though Girl did not physically stab Boy in the back, she might as well have. The blood on her body is foreshadowing. DANAAAAAAA
