Here's my entry for the Arrietty contest. I was glad I made the decision to see this in theaters. While it didn't have as much of a magical charm as, say, Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle, it was enchanting enough to leave me grinning at the end of the movie. :) (Too bad I saw it by myself...) It's hard to just pick one Studio Ghibli favorite, and I know there are others I haven't seen just yet. ^^;

This scan is from Princess Mononoke. This movie stands out because Miyazaki deviates a bit from his normal, cheery, more peaceful films. This film showed a darker side in a struggle of harmony between mankind and nature. And this magnificent beast appeared out of the midst of the turmoil to bring peace again.
